"Blondie, no!" Michelle shouts behind you as you rush up to the monster, intentionally piercing one of your hands on the bone that's impaling Dr. Finch. You run your hand over the creaking door, smearing your blood across it.

...And feel... nothing.

You don't feel the door. You don't exert any control over the door. Dr. Finch cries out again as the monster shreds the door apart, opening up the doorway. It starts to slowly try and cram itself through the frame.

You don't understand.

Your blood soaked through your bandages. You could control your bandages.

Your blood splashed along the inside of the ventilation shaft. You could control that.

Why is this different?

Why couldn't you take control of the door?

The story is probably well in its later stages and I'm just a new reader binging right now, but everyone totes forgot that monster over there was doused in flammable pesticide from an earlier episode
