You resolve to tackle it later; it's taken you this long to try and flag down the book, you don't think waiting a little longer could hurt.

You, Caius, and Dr. Finch drive around town more, getting better acquainted with the roads. You make some stop offs at tourist locations, grabbing pamphlets and brochures on local attractions in Southden. The city does seem to be pushing for tourism, which can't hurt your attempts to blend in.

You check on Fuse and Michelle.

"Yeah, there ain't jack here," Michelle says. "I know it's abandoned, but I was expectin'... y'know, a monster hidin' out, or a gang layin' low from the cops, or... anything. Most excitin' thing I've found around here is bees. Big ass bees, but bees."

"We also found a toad," Fuse says. "And some kind of weasels, I think, but they took off pretty quick. But yeah, in general I think this place is actually seriously abandoned. I do have a grand revelation to make, but it's nothing to rush back over. It's dumb and we're dumb, and I'll explain it when you get back."

Caius heads underground, and you start to get a look at Southden's sub level. It's mostly stores and entertainment, with a few outlets that look like they might be offices.

Well now I'm curious, darnit Fuse you can't keep us hanging like that :P

Does it look habitable, at least? Or are we going to want to move our folks to the city after getting everything legally sorted out? Hopefully it's not as much of a nightmare to find a place there as it can be in London...

Also the weasel things might have been stoats or martens. Or, well, weasels.

Do they need some sort of ticket or something to get into the domed area? If the city's major industry is tourism, I imagine it might just be a matter of money.

How deep does Southden go? I imagine it doesn't have as many tiers as our home city. (Speaking of which, was our city ever named? If it was, I don't remember.)

In those domes, how many guards to a single gate?

Fuse & Michelle: If it's abandoned then nobody will miss stuff from it - engage scavenger mode, pick it clean. If there's anything useful, take it. Grab the list of stuff the Proto-Juries needed if possible, see if any sort of raw materials (such as copper wires) are on that list - take those too if so. An abandoned town, there's surely something of use there.

Finch & Caius: Browse the stores, see if there's anything worth buying. ...Also see what the local currency is, to make sure we can buy stuff.

I suddenly want a geiger counter and to take soil samples for testing. The place is freaky abandoned...unless this is Faraday's doing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is the only location that both is a magic door, has a key reader AND opens to its own location instead of being a door to nowhere?

Go in a couple stores, see if there's anything interesting around. Also watch to see if they do indeed use funny pseudo-European money, or just regular good ol' pseudo-American money.

Can't imagine all domes are equal in terms of security...
Might be an alternative entrance to some of them via the underground.
Something to keep an eye out for, anyways.

I now want to call the currency, "Pseudos," (like Euros or Pesos). Beats double dollars. :\

I guess continue exploring at our leisure until we feel like we should head back. If Michelle and Fuse feel like they're done searching, they can chill back at Bunker A. If they found/can find a good spot to hide the motorcycle out of the rain that'd be peachy-keen.
