You hug Michelle, and tell her it's her decision. The scar looks badass, but you also totally understand if she wants to get it taken care of.

You also ask if she remembers what happened to your pink eyepatch.

"Oh, geez," she exclaims. "I think the last time I saw it was back at Finch's place. I know he grabbed some important medical stuff outta there, but uhhh... I'm guessin' that wasn't one of 'em."

For now, Michelle heads back to see if Mav's fixed up yet, and you go to the break room-esque area to clean yourself up. While washing your face off, you make a mental note to ask Dr. Finch about your brain--you're not real certain you repaired it correctly. It's functioning, clearly, as you're up and walking around... but you were in a hurry at the time, and mostly just trying to keep yourself alive, not really worried about the details.

You return to the other side of the bunker. Mav is out, and catching up with her husband and son.

"Hey," Fuse says. "Dr. Finch is checking on Michelle now. Everything alright?"

You nod, and ask how everyone else is doing. You were a little concerned that offloading thought processes may have had an adverse effect on people.

Caius and Fuse both shake their heads.

"It felt weird," Caius says. "Like bein' drunk, kinda. Y'know, fuzzy."

"Yeah, that was about the worst of it," Fuse confirms. "I do have a weird question, though--I think we've talked about doing that before with, like, stress and stuff. ...But we thought it'd require a sync. I felt off, but I didn't feel synced."

You mention that, at several points while you were disconnected from your body, you also knew things that Michelle, Fuse, and Dr. Finch knew... but that you personally shouldn't have known. It was like being synced, but you never initiated a sync.

"Didn't need nothin' from me," Caius says jokingly. "I see how it is."

"Maybe the blood is like..." Fuse pauses, thinking about it more. "...always synced. I mean, syncing is making your brain and someone else's brain link, but the blood's not a brain. Maybe when you pull back that far, you can just... tap into all the brains at once."

"I don't really get it," Caius adds, "but from what I do understand, if we was all synced we all coulda' drawn off each other. Right? I'da' been able to hack and do brain surgery an' shit. Well, I didn't feel any smarter durin' all that."

"So... that's good to know," Fuse states. "You sort of super-sync with no drawbacks when you're disassociated. Well, no draw backs besides being the blood. I'm sure that's... a little disorienting."

You explain a little more your odd bouts of confusion when you were disassociating--forgetting which body was yours, almost lapsing back into your brain while it was injured, and so on. That, and how long it took you to get back into your body at all.

"Yeah, that sounds scary as hell," Fuse replies. "So it's a lot like syncing--cool and all, but not something you wanna do for too long. After a while you might forget how to come back."

"Or ya won't want to," Caius adds. "A lot o' drugs got that problem--'specially tha real trippy, outta body experience type ones. You hit 'em too hard and real life starts lookin' like shit."

Fuse nods. "Yeah, that. Any decent drug dealer will tell you to mix Gabriel with other stuff. You take it straight and you take enough of it... well, there's two kinds of stories. Some people stay on it forever, taking it 'til they overdose because they don't wanna be real again. ...Then there's junkies that can't get more of it, and they end up killing themselves. Point is... you spend too much time being all-encompassing, all-powerful, without pain and all that, it might get harder and harder to drag yourself back down here to the rest of us."

"We don't wanna lose ya," Caius says. "You ain't just tha blood, remember that."

Fuse turns, giving Caius an odd stare.

"What?," Caius says with a shrug. "I can be sappy sometimes. Don't tell nobody, though, I got a reputation to keep up."

Since Finch is still busy, how about we check in on our Red? And then maybe call/ talk to Mac to tell him not to be too worried about what just happened, since he probably felt it.

Plus, quickly check to make sure Willard and his noble feline steed are doing ok.

Yeah.. Should work on switching back and forth from the blood at some point.

Oh, and poke around for a bowl or something similar. Something I would like to try later.

A thought has occurred to me a couple times, and this is one of them: Is Caius blooded properly? After all, all his blood was in his body.
I know we were in his brain and things, but I can't help but feel like Caius has been acting a bit forced recently.
This should probably be a priority thing: See how Caius is feeling, if he's alright. As a person I'm worried about him, y'know? A brain transplant doesn't seem like it's just something you do and win at and you're done, it might be a continuous situation, maybe even for his whole life.

Also get eye fixed sometime.

Brains have veins in them; he probably doesn't have as much as he once did, but there's gotta still be some. If anything, I'd be a bit surprised if they didn't use Jane as a blood donor during the surgery.

Gotta love Caius, he's such a teddy bear when he wants to be <3

I was talking about it in the discord - I want to try and use biopaste to get a new eye with our newfound blood ability. If we could wick sweat off of Michelle, and displace the matter in Mav's tonsils, then it proves it doesn't have to be our blood, necessarily. So like, I want to see if we can't kinda seep some paste through and repair our missing eye. It'd make some good practice.

Also, let's check on our Red, and maybe talk with Caius, ask how his brain transplant is affecting him

If we can rebuild our own eye like that, maybe consider enhancing it a little.. low-light vision, infrared, long distance zoom.. there is a lot of potential there
pkrankow 14th Mar 2018, 4:27 PM edit delete reply
Right now an OEM replacement will be excellent. A hot rodded eye can be practiced since we wont want special abilities active all the time.

We should have a chat with our Red next while we wait for our turn with Dr. Finch. I feel like we kinda went way over to her side of the human-eldritch continuum that we embody. We should make sure she's not, like, passed out on our mind-bed because she was doing all the heavy lifting for us yet again.

Also check on our faithful animal companions. We'll want Willard and Mocha back at Bunker A for reward snacks and snuggles.

Also also we should make dinner plans at some point. And check the time once Dr. Finch is done treating everybody.

You a thought...

Although we're trying to do good, it's really taxing on us. Maybe we start a program once we get a steady path to get people out of the city...

"We'll get you out, but you need to blood two people that have been Queened first." That then lets us rescue two more people, whom we give the same instructions to, wash-rinse-repeat.

I don't think it's a lot to ask, but it should help us step up our game a bit.

Let's, uh, let's *not* turn our blood into a multi-level marketing scheme?

But yes, let's check on Willard and the unnamed cat (someone suggested Mocha at some point? which I kinda like).

I'm still leaning in the direction of Lovecraft inspired names. In that scheme, the calico got Cthhullu, the black one Nartholyep (sp?) and the striped one was bouncing around but maybe we just settled on Lovecraft or Dunwich? Maybe we do firstname/middlename for the cats?

So... maybe he'd be MC for short?

And why not a bit of marketing? It's not like it's about making money off of them, but just getting them out of the city, and we don't have the manpower to move a city.

We're getting more attention from Thale than before. If we send people out recruiting we might well be sending the to their deaths.

oh also, fuse can build a radio jammer right? that might be a good idea, with how often carpenter's robots show up. it will probably only work once, but it'd be good to have one on tap just in case.
Memo 14th Mar 2018, 12:43 PM edit delete reply
That would be really handy to have.. something along the lines of a emp-stun grenade!
PurpleKetchup 14th Mar 2018, 4:38 PM edit delete reply
I'd hate to weaponise her, but Edison is literally perfect for those situations. Is there any way to inject some red in her canister and have a little chat ? She liked the colour, that's worth something. Wish we could dig up her Z50 experimental data to learn more about her and help her out of that psychotic streak of hers.
Guest 14th Mar 2018, 12:59 PM edit delete reply
While we were the blood we seemed sure Fuse could do this. Having something ready for the next time we have to contend with Carpenter sounds like a good idea.
pkrankow 14th Mar 2018, 4:29 PM edit delete reply
Jammer or emp will be handy, yes. A nice messy spark gap transmitter will blank lots due to dirty signal.

Before we forget, we need to make a mental note to make a memorial for the unnamed cultist who gave his life to let us escape - maybe we can ask Pierce if he knows that cultist's name, so we can put a name on the memorial?
PurpleKetchup 14th Mar 2018, 4:34 PM edit delete reply
His name is Robert Paulson.
