Though there's plenty of hall to check out, you're also aware that a huge monster is still wandering this floor. You decide to enter the first door you find. It's probably better to minimize your time out in the open.

You wander into the laundry room... and immediately, a man in a lab coat sprays you in the face with some kind of bottle. It stings your eyes, and smells strongly of lemon.

"Did it see you?! Sh, shh, shhhhh..."

Though he just asked you a question, he puts a hand over your mouth. He waits. He holds his breath. He hears ... nothing. He removes his hand from your mouth, and begins spraying the rest of you with the lemon scented deodorizer.

"That thing out there can't see very well, but it can smell. Even through a door, it can smell. If you don't smell like people, and it doesn't get a good, close look at you, it won't even know you're there. I figured this out because I'm a genius."

He immediately goes back to scribbling at some notes he has propped up on the laundry machines, as if it's not a huge deal that a living person just violated the sanctity of his laundry room fortress. Once the burning of artificial citrus fades from your eyes, you recognize him as Dr. Finch.

You have acquired the scent of fresh lemons.

I quess that was helpful, =save that he burned us in the eyes. Ask what else he knows

Oh my gosh, I had no idea the scent of fresh linens was the thing that was protecting us for so long. THIS IS MIND-BLOWING.

Are those lockers at the other end, next to the laundry machines? Maybe while he's saying what else he knows, we could check that out?

He's kinda cracked... Inform him that there's a heavily armed super soldier-esqe lady about armed with a shotgun who's trying to solve the problems about, and that you need to find a way to get to the first floor so that you can free her from the room she's stuck in so that she can kill that huge monster. He's free to stay in here though, you can handle yourself.
