You and the rest of the group spend the day goofing off, mostly waiting for things to blow over. You watch television, you discuss various matters of lesser importance, and you get to know each other better. The four of you also try playing a card game while syncing, to try and practice keeping information from leaking.

It does not work very well.

After an extended period of syncing, there starts to be genuine confusion. Fuse, at one point, nearly plays a card he doesn't have. Michelle begins to voice a strange sadness over the death of the brown rat. "I don't... I dunno why I care. I didn't before, like, it's just a rat... but it just hit me."

You end up calling it off before the card game is officially ended. It seems that the longer you are synced, the more minds begin to seep into one another. Fuse seems to be affected the most. Dr. Finch speculates that this could be his psychic mutation coming into play, or it could just be that you've synced with him the most in total. If that's the case, then syncing with someone more frequently increases their risk of mental fusion.

You do, however, discover another property of the sync--you can sync knowledge and skill between people that are not you. You can, for example, grant Fuse's computer knowledge to Michelle--though, it takes a little more concentration to act as a mediator in this way.

Dr. Finch also does some research into possible connections between Patton Thale and Theodore Reigns. He comes up short on hard ties, however--aside from them both being very wealthy, there's not much pinning them together. There are no pictures of them together, or anything of the like--in part because there's so few pictures of Patton Thale, period.

Around the time that the sun is setting, you feel the bartender die.

oh shit, i forgot we even dosed the bartender. how's the guard we got outside? can we see where he is and what he's doing? he might be next. we should check on macland too, if someone is on to us he could also be in danger. it might be time to try and get to him, or win him over. the fact that his life could be on the line is as good a selling point as any.

Probably tortured the bartender since last night to eke out something. The guard that was blatantly off-kilter is probably getting similar treatment.
Check what he can see/hear before they tear his head off. No sync, just a quick look.

I read this on my way to work this morning and I laughed out loud on public transit when I read Michelle's sudden sadness for Malteser XD;;;; dangnamit.

Also burst into dumb giggles when I thought, 'Fuse is most at risk of mental fusion? COULD IT BE HIS NAME?!?1' (I sometimes have about as much wit as a twit.)

I guess we probably shouldn't sync THAT often if the case is that the more we sync, the more we risk that kind of confusion. I hope it's not a permanent thing and fades after some time (though knowledge gained sticks, I presume).

With the others on checking in on Macland and the guard we injected on our way out from the vents. If we still have our rat, maybe we should check around the bar room, the security office and the torture room to see what's going on in Elegance, if it's happening at Elegance.

(EDIT: Also I really like the Fuse-on-the-couch sprite. XD)

Rufia that art yesterday was awesome also are you going to draw fuse on the couch chilling with everyone? ;p

Aww thank you CookieNommer! XD; I've drawn a number of fanarts for Blood is Mine so far, to the point I've actually already drawn a gang-chilling-on-the-couch picture (this was the first day they all crashed at Dr. Finch's and brought pizza back XD;). I might give it another shot though :D <3

Next time we check on Macland if he is alone we should just make him say the TH name out loud.
Macheman7 17th Aug 2017, 9:31 PM edit delete reply
He's probably rigged to explode if he does say it. Also, probably making people they don't want to do slowly breaks them, so if he REALLY didn't want to say the name and we tried to make him, it might make him braindead or worse.
CookieNommer51 17th Aug 2017, 9:53 PM edit delete reply
Why don't we get mackland to write it down somewhere then burn the paper or whatever he wrote it on.
rufiangel 17th Aug 2017, 9:58 PM edit delete reply
To be fair though, Macheman, I think when we were controlling that guard, we commanded him to do all the things he didn't want to do and he seemed fairly mentally intact, if also just really grumpy at us. XD; I think it's the syncing that risks brain damage as far as I'm aware. Also, given that Macland nearly blurted out the name last time, I'd say he hasn't got quite the reserve on saying it out loud than he should, which might work in our favour. But with a bodyguard constantly hanging around Macland, there's no guarantee that scar-face *isn't* STQ-ed up, so it's a risk if Mac's not alone.

BTW Morgen what if this community grows and you get 50 comments telling you to do different things?

Just asking cause some of the comments areas are already getting quite long

I will panic, and probably have to keep a Wordpad file open or something.

There's already been a few pages that I had to like, tally votes or jot down individual steps for. Basically pooling and summarizing everything for myself.
