When the drone in your bedroom isn't paying attention, you quickly schlorp that particular bug back into... uh... itself, pulling it into the blood in its own body before pulling that blood into a smaller... amount. Of that blood.
As for the bug in the basement, you have it hop off the electronic lock and wander its way through the door, into the ship proper.
Well... into Mom's red, in a way.
You send it down the hall. Nothing unusual seems to be going on, no traps are set up--it's the same eerie silence you remember.
You send the bug through the door to greet the giant mouth in the wall.
"Hello," says the giant mouth.
You hop your blood bug up onto the pedestal, where the mouth-like opening awaits. You use the bug to start pouring blood into Mom's red.
...And you continue pouring.
. . . And you continue pouring.
It takes... a lot of blood, but you have time and an infinite supply, so
You continue pouring.
And pouring.
And pouring.
And eventually
you can now give commands to Mom's red.
You feel a brief... sensation. You can't quite describe it, just a momentary... oddness.
At one point, you were told that whoever had the most of your blood would be the one in control of it. More recently, you realized that you'd overcome that limitation.
It feels like, just now, you seriously tested that... but it passes quickly. You are still in control, and you are still you.
"You have come a long way since you first stepped into this room," Mom's red says simply.
I guess one benefit of this is that we might have more insight into that very question now!
Presumably Mom's red and Mine got along because they were spawned from the same Fragment (i.e. mom). I wonder if, as Mine travels further down this path, she might become different enough to elicit the animosity that fragments feel for one another? Could be one interpretation of their statement.
Or this could be 100% paranoia. inner-Fuse, weigh in on this.
I think we should bear in mind that MomRed is a separate entity, despite being spawned from the same god-like being, and as such we can't claim to wholely know its intentions, but the fact that we've blooded it should definitely give us more clarity into said intentions.
All that said, it's been nice to us, and we're basically siblings. We are blood-god of hugs and joy. I see no reason to revise our assumption of friendship unless something changes.
Mom's Red has always been pleased for us growing into our powers, and was sad that Mom hid that from us. I don't think this is anything other than genuine happiness at our growth.
When the possibility of allowing those Mine has blooded to use The Blood came up, I rambled on about how "even if they could, they might not know how to," which makes me think.
Does Mine 'know,' how to command Mom's red?
(Also have we ever considered using a different name for them? There are several 'red's in our lexicon right now. lol)
I think we should get to know Mom's Red better before jumping into a sync with it. Some ideas:
* Perceiving through it as DerpHaven suggested.
* Asking Mom Red if it has any advice regarding what syncing with it would be like.
* Meditating with it to lessen the difficulty of syncing an alien mind.
* Ask if getting so much blood has given it a revelation of anything.
* Not related to syncing, but if it wants to craft things for us, as we can provide material.
In the past when we've forced syncs, we've had to fulfill some condition in order to leave. Since our blood powers still work in syncs, we might be able to schlorp ourselves out if something goes wrong.
Pretty much this. Ask for advice, meditate, pep talk, and then let's do this thing. It's time to stretch our legs, get a sense of our own scale. We're ready.
+1 to talking, then perceiving, then normal sync to try and learn blood speak. also think Mine should checkup on her main limb,i mean body and the bunker. see how much time has passed and whats been going on.
Still think we should have tried that scan skill, but I think a lot of things...
Either way, we have a lot of training to do. Mine will be unavailable for a while, lest she says something's wrong, i.e., break-in or something requiring backup via portal. This leaves the rest of the team to run errands of their own. But someone must always have an eye on Mine.
That said, unless he has something more important to do, I think Doc Finch should try commanding Willard. He's had time to learn and adapt, and the amount of blood he has compared to most other characters is outstounding. He has the knowledge, let's see him practice. Even if it's from a noob, we all know, Mine could use the help.
We should definitely have our team working on things while we're "away," and seeing if they can use some Blood powers is an entirely worthwhile task.
It makes since, if blood powers work roughly on "if you believe it works, it works" and "the one who has the most Blood (and will), wins" then Finch, who has more Blood than Willard, should actually fairly easily be able to command Willard.
The one who has the most may not be the rule for much longer, Mine just broke it.
Reread the last of the comic post, starting with "you can now give commands to Mom's red."
The rule may stand for Finch, but Mine has surpassed it. Her allies whom do succeed in gaining a likeness of her power will have her help in achieving the same.
(What it boils down to is willpower, focus and knowledge over all else)
That said, Mom's red spoke more clearly than ever before. I'm interested if any unintended side effects may be in play.
The time has come to achieve the penultimate goal.
Hug Mom's Red
It may be more telepathic in nature, since Mom's red is too big to physically hug, but we can now express a full emotional hug to mom's red. We can send Mom's Red the full emotion of a hug!
This suddenly gives me a lot of regret over not checking with particular supernatural sources whether or not this was a good idea.
I mean, we know there are magical drains on both Mom's Red and Mine's Red. This may have just disrupted either of those sources.
We don't know if, had we failed to resist that 'majority of Mine's blood becomes the main body', we would have seen Mine take over the consciousness of Mom's Red, or if we would have seen Mom's Red gain some form of control over us.
To alleviate this paranoia, I suggest two things. Well, three things. All of which are just requesting information from soures we have access to.
We should ask Liz about how it felt being connected with Thale, since she's the only one with perspective on a Blood that isn't Mine's blood.
We should ask Pierce if he can explain anything about magic that draws from the Red and whether there's any potential for... well, reversing the nature of the influence from 'drawing power' to 'asserting influence', or whether it's possible (even theoretically) to siphon off a bit of Red to control under one's own influence separate from Mine. [This refers to the possibility or lack thereof that someone might be able to take a chunk of Red and control it in a similar way to Mine rather than invoke a specific function of it through magical means].
Third, It may be worth asking the Tradesman those kinds of questions about magic in general, since it is possibly one of the greater sources of danger to Mine long-term, and even after we're done with Thale we might have to be aware of magic (Helen seems like a step in the right direction regarding this).
I'm going to post this one separately because it's completely unrelated-
When we sync with Mom's red, we should see if we can sense or interact with Mini Red through that Sync. Mini Red is just Mom's Red, but I imagine it's similar to how Blobbert (Or any amount of Mine's distributed bood) is to Mine.

Has anyone tried to come down the vent and in here?

Additionally Miss/Mr. Red could be 'Misread' but honestly? Murray is kind of amusing.

This guy gets what I'm taking about.
