You ask about possibly exchanging phone numbers--just in case something goes wrong, or one of you has to skip town.
"I don't see the harm in that," Helen replies. She takes out a bulky looking flip phone with large, very visible buttons. It takes her a few moments to look up her phone number to give to you.
You nod to Caius, who calls Helen with his alien phone. He lets it ring once before cutting it off. "My phone's, uh, kinda in my brain," he says. "So... there ain't gonna be a number there to dial, but tha call back thing oughta work."
"Oh!," remarks Helen. "I see. How unusual."
You ask if there's anything she'd like to know about you and your group.
"Some other day, perhaps," she replies with a faint smile. "Curious as I am, I think knowing too much about you could be... dangerous, at the moment. For both of us. Once all the ongoing hubbub is over with and the stars have settled down, though, I think there's a lot we could talk about."
You shop around for a little while. The store's selection of books is... limited, mostly by virtue of all being pre-owned books people no longer wanted. You don't find much of interest--mostly old crime and romance novels, choose your own adventure books, and niche cookbooks. You do find some children's books, though, which you end up buying for the ghost girls.
I don't think Edison would particularly like bloodsoaked things unless *she's* the one who does the soaking XD Let's just... give her some nice psychologically healthy books. (Er, let's check over the books and make sure that they *are* nice psychologically healthy books and not about how girls are destined to grow up to be barefoot and pregnant or something. They're fairly old books, after all...)
+1 to Twyll. We're trying to make Edison LESS crazy, not more. Remember how much trouble she was as a psycho? We don't need that, and neither does she.
Well, looks like we got what we came for! Thank the nice lady and her cohorts for their hospitality and we can get back to training, planning, and learning.
Oooh, 'choose your own adventure-books'? I love those.
Check if there are any from Jackson & Livingstone's acclaimed "Fighting Fantasy"-series! ^_^
Or maybe even Morgenstern's "Nast the Enchanter". ;)
Guess its about time to head home then. have pierce send the message.(or just write it if he doesn't want to have to pay the price)
ide also like to Blood Moms Red
(portal into Mines House and Portal back out. can even levitate the blanket to its kind of like a wall so Mine can just step through without any real problems)
then perform a normal Sync to try and learn Blood Speak. (not HOW to but rather the Language itself)
then preform various forced syncs on those willing to volunteer with moms Red being the "final boss" x:
Michelle first though, would love to see how things have changed, also remind Mine that she Blooded a vending machine there so she knows her blood powers work in at least a Mind-scape, with that hopefully leading to being able to use blood in astral form aswell.
as an aside, i wonder if Moms Red would be more aware of the information transfer then humans would be?
Things went fairly smoothly here, assuming nothing's happened to our portal. I'd like to write up a list of things that we want to do, but can be done safely without Mine for when she's not around, or sitting waiting for an animal to go somewhere. https://bloodismine.fandom.com/wiki/Todo_List Mine could practice her blood shaping exercises to pass the time, for instance.
Head home, then do EXPERIMENTS!:
1. Become the blood, then try to sync with Mine as if she's someone else. Maybe we can get the benefits of dissociation while maintaining our humanity.
2. Sync with Finch, then monitor Fuse's brain while he uses his powers.
3. See what Fuse's Combat form is (as in the ritual).
I'm going to note some concern that Fuse's combat form might turn out to be on fire. Given the fire risk, the mental changes Michelle experienced, and the exhaustion afterwards... I think we should be very selective about where we choose to try that out, if at all.
Well, we need to do the test in our town and not the bunker. As for the mental changes, they optimize the user's brain for combat, so I'm actually expecting him to have more control over his powers due to stress regulation, focus, and maybe kinesthetics improvements. He should be at less risk of burning himself than usual, and that's if the ritual doesn't just fireproof him outright.
I'm against using Combat #11 more outside of combat. It exhausts the user and gives them a desire to destroy we have no outlet for. Becoming the blood, coming to a conclusion of who we are, accelerating, and bloodcrafting anti-carpenter items are all things I would be behind, but let's get ritual we came to obtain completed first.
Go ahead and grab a couple cookbooks. Yeah, maybe you don't need the recipes, but cookbooks are like... This Human Earth Ritual of women passing down ancient bacteria and notes and such. Also, you all need to up your menu options.
Trading these up for a super cookbook sounds hilarious. Or we might get a book that's almost entirely off-topic but super informative. It's a win either way.
I also approve of both buying and trading up cook books. ...Although if there are any that have like, lovingly hand-written notes in them, we might wanna copy them somehow before we trade 'em up...
I say we grab some books for the village people, maybe ask them what they'd like first. They were getting stir crazy in the mars bunker, they'll get stir crazy in the village too. Might take longer but still...
We do still have to actually send the cryptic message once we get back. We should probably do that first. Not that someone else can't also do other rituals at the same time, but this one's on a timer.

That, or find someone be trusts to take up the baton.

That sounds like the best idea.
although, you might get a cookbook for your brain. (cite: Caius' phone)
Now I'm somewhat curious to trading up the crime and romance novels :)
