Author Notes:
"It... it's okay," Tesla says.
"Tesla was worried," Faraday states, "but I knew you were still in there."
"I thought it was a delightful trick," Edison adds. "Let me just show you how I do this-- Woosh, bam! Right on the floor."
"You didn't miss too much," Dr. Finch begins. "We've laid a great deal of groundwork towards supplementing your biomech, but we've not yet much to show for it. Michelle was... rather insistent on finding a way to work in manual controls, in stark contrast to her previous statement that syncing would be sufficient."
"I mean," Caius shrugs his shoulders, pausing to figure out what he's going to say, "Yeah? We had to let Blondie go off by herself, then she disappeared for half a day. No offense, Blondie, 'cuz we get it, but--y'know, it's Michelle. Tha idea o' sittin' on her hands while you're out there fightin' giant worms an' stuff, or... y'know--while you're in trouble, and she can't do nothin'? Kinda got to her, I think. So... yeah, she was kinda on a tear about gettin' tha mech goin', and makin' it work even if you ain't there to make it work."
Dr. Finch fights back a smile, throwing a glance toward Caius. "You were right alongside her, backing up every suggestion."
"Well--" Caius stops, looking aside for a second. "Yeah, I don't like sittin' around doin' nothin', neither. I-It'd be good for everybody."
Dr. Finch gives a small sigh, smiles a bit wider, and shakes his head. "At any rate, progress is being made, albeit slowly."
You realize you never did finish showing off how your portals work. You don't want to exert yourself too hard, but a quick bloop through the red shouldn't be any major strain. Though, you're not sure what you would--
You stop... and head back to Bunker A for a moment.
You retrieve the cat magazine you all found in Bunker X, and you return to Bunker E.
You slip the magazine through the blood on the floor, which you had previously left to help you monitor for any escape attempts by Edison. You concentrate on its position in the red... and open a portal inside the miniature Blobbert, which someone helpfully loaded into Edison's chamber while you were out.
You've moved in and out of a single entry point via the red, but moving in through one portal, and out through another in a respectable amount of time, is... not really something you've practiced yet. You focus on it more, trying to determine where the Blobbert exit is relative to... everything else in the red, and moving the magazine toward it.
"She's going to do it again!," Edison declares. "Woooosh--"
"She is not," Faraday replies.
You... can't actually tell how close one portal is from the other. They're... far away from each other, some indiscernible distance... until they're not. The magazine suddenly reaches its destination, sliding out of the bulbous blood clot in Edison's chamber.
"Oh!," Edison exclaims. "A bloody book, it's just what I always wanted."
She picks it up, not at all thrown off by... what is indeed a bit of blood on the cover. Opening it, though, she visibly pauses. "...Okay, those are rather cute, though."
Edison wanders back to the glass, skimming through the pages. She starts showing some of the pictures of cats to Tesla and Faraday, who are similarly entranced by high quality images of cats doing cat things.
Caius chuckles, watching the girls get excited about kitties. "Well, that oughta keep 'em busy for a while."
Right tell them we're gonna head off to check on Fuse and Michelle on our way to talk to the silkworm again, see if it's made up its mind on whether or not to help us.
1. Are the rewards static, or do they vary based on something?
2. What happens if a floor is only partially completed? Will it reset to its initial state, or will it remain as is? Is that floor closed forever?
Though i wonder what would happen if you were to simply pull the entirety of bunker x into the red.
3. Is there a lower limit on how many people can enter a floor?
4. Would you be mad if we took everything out of a level without completing it, but left the party inside?
5. Does a non-sentient golem made out of the red count as Mine, not a person, or are we being annoying?
On the march 18th comic, it was described that Blondie's mom was able to change her dad by wholely beliving that the dad was a part of them. This reminds me about the book: The Alchemist. As the MC continued their journey, they came to realize that Alchemy does work because all matter in the universe is the same. Lead is the same as gold. Mortal is the same as immortal. A boy is the same as the wind. And with this knowledge, he chould CHANGE and CONTROL the matter around him, including himself.
We already have a way to 'scan' the body of everyone we've blooded. We do it all the time when looking for damaged tissue for repair. So why don't we 'print' up replacement body parts from the red, using our scan as a blueprint? For example, what if Finch loses his left leg? We can look at his right leg using the blood, then make a mirrored duplicate. If we can remember our scans, we can even fix hearts, lungs, and other major organs with perfect accuracy.
If we get a chance, we way want to help our ERROR self the same way they keep helping us. We can think about a few things an alone, helpless version of ourselves would want, then hand them over next time we go to the error room.
Since we already have our own town now, we could ask Macland if he or Shirai want to invest. The whole reason the town dried up in the first place was the economy, but if there was two very wealthy patrons who want to revitalize it... =)
If Enyo is 'the First Womb' and Mine's mom was a fragment of that, does that make Enyo Mine's grandmother? And if fragments can be considered children, then does that make Mom's Red Mine's older half-sister?
Things to ask the Tradesmen:
A way to astral project (or any of the others) without needing a ritual.
