You and Dr. Finch do your best to keep the monster distracted while Michelle makes a run for the cafeteria. Though she's hurt, she still has much, much better speed and stamina than the both of you, and can get to the cafeteria quickly. You use the vents to bait the creature around until Michelle returns with some of the artificial food from the cafeteria. You all hide again.

You pour your blood into Michelle's gun. Though most of the gun is just its outside plating, the gun as a whole "feels" heavy--it takes an uncomfortable excess of your blood to take control of it, but you eventually get there. Dr. Finch covers the gun in engineered meat, and then you all lay it out where the monster can find it.

You can "feel" through the gun... and you are fully aware when the creature eats it. The beast's teeth are nowhere near powerful enough to chew through the gun's armor, and instead, the monster swallows it whole.

Once the gun is inside the monster, and closer to the actual bio printer... you detonate the Stratemeyer Engine.

As a side note, it might be a couple of days before I kick off chapter 2. I have ... a lot of assets that I need to cook up. The next chapter's going to some vastly different locations.

Since there's going to be a lull in posting here between chapters, hit me with your feedback, opinions, questions, comments, suggestions, whatever.

Yeah, it's rather annoying when you can't find your "like a boss" sunglasses after something like this.

At precisely what time is this story supposed to take place? Would you prefer to keep that ambiguous? If so, that's fine.

The exact timing is going to stay ambiguous, but the whole thing took place over about 10 to 12 hours.

I just have to say I love this comic and can't wait to read more!

I did have a question: were there any scenarios that you wanted to draw but didn't get to because no one suggested it in the comments?

Nothing I can think of, actually. I do kind of wish I'd thrown in one more monster encounter just so something could get flamethrowered. Maybe a room full of head spiders or something.
