Honestly, the way they put it makes it sound more like they're asking for his corpse. Which means that there really isn't any saving what's left of Knox.
I personally don't have a big issue with this trade: we tried to save him and failed, and otherwise his corpse would either remain floating in the red or be buried on Mars (which given any Mars-blood might be a bad idea), so I could agree to the trade.
I can understand why others might have an issue with it though.
While I do support handing over the remains... we know of two people who knew Knox when he was alive. Caius and Macland. We may want to notify them that we're going to be handing over Knox's body to interdimensional information brokers before we go through with it. And maybe even reconsider if one or both of them have particularly strong objections.
We should ask then both. MacLand grew enough of a conscience to really care when Caius was going to die - he might care about Knox enough to have an opinion. We should at least ask him - worst that can happen is he doesn't care.
I'd feel a lot worse if we didn't ask and find out later that he really did care.
Macland Row doesn't even know about the tradesmen as far as we're aware. Asking him about this would require we first explain them to him and I don't think we want to take the time to do that right now.
Supporting Skullrama here, let's ask both of them. Macland is aware of stuff going bonk in the night from his encounter with Nil, so it will be easy enough to explain we're in touch with extradimensional info brokers with unique interests.
Ask the Tradesmen what toppings they want on their pancakes. And that they'll get more than two, to make up for the lack of hugs (and free info).
+1 to these, all of them, the ask, the don't asks, im torn. But if we have the option to say yes to both trades(if everyone decides to ask and no one objects or if we decide to not ask), then yes to both trades.
But then he will be in the red, awake, and become insane. o-o and we cant force him to sleep while we rewind him because we would keep rewinding him to before we forced him to sleep. x-x also, no idea even if we can get him out before he goes crazy, if that will or wont get the time-cops after us and that's the NICE worry we have about it. x:
But think if it like this, if one of our more well developed companions had the same issue, wouldn't we risk it for them? If fuse combusts or Michelle gets horribly injured
Ask if it's possible to trade down as well, like if we have a fancy but useless item maybe we could get something more but less useful. Like trade down a tuxedo for five sets of overalls
I'm seconding the idea of asking at least Caius, maybe Macland too, if they're okay with us just giving Knox's remains away instead of burying them or something.
I think Knox is probably a corpse, or at least completely brain-dead, but this is still an ethical dilemma. Definitely ask. I have a feeling Caius won't care, and I don't know if we can repair Knox, and I'm certain that if we could, it wouldn't be safe.
The only further use we could get from Knox's remains is in testing reversing someone's personal timeline. Maybe before trading him, we should ask the Tradesmen what the result of attempting that would be.
Also yeah, we should definitely talk the Knox thing over with our teammates. We can probably just trade the pancakes tho :P
Definitely give them some pancakes, but ask how they would like them (also if it's two apiece as there seem to be four of them). I agree that we should ask Caius and Mac about Knox, and maybe ask what will be done to him after the trade. Also, ask if there is anything we can do to help earn Edison's trust or help the ghost girls in general.
i idea for the thing with knox why dont we first have the brain removed and preserved like what we did with caius (ask if the tradesmen care tho if they do it might mean there is something to save) and we can use the red to make a new body for practice
Knox is still an asset. We can experiment on him, at the very least. I wouldn't be so quick on parting with this asset, as this would deprive us from a lot of learning experience.
I have one very important question we could ask: Why is Dr. Finch wearing glasses?
In a world where you can just regrow eyes and replace them there shouldn't be any need for them.
Mine had lost her eye at the beginning and had it replaced, later she lost it again and again it was replaced.
When it is so easy to replace them it should be possible to correct any faults they have, in other words all people who can afford bioprinted eyes should have perfect vision.
Incidentally, I constantly see people worried that using that soul-destroying gun will destroy the soul of the wielder. But didn't the description say it costs the LIFE of the wielder, which was even stated in similar terms twice? That sounds gameable through golems and such.
Yes, but anyone with intent to use it might be considered a "wielder." Heck, you might accidentally end up with more than one person "wielding" it that way. If you trick and enemy into using it, are you wielding it as well?
1.) the fact that there was blood on the ground outside Carpenter's... makes me worried he may be trying to duplicate our powers somehow, and that bloody tings may be a threat.
2.) perhaps ask for a hint on how to "turn" the Many? They seem pretty chaotic-neutral and could be a nice ally to have, especially as an emplaced asset.

Knox is mostly gone, but he still might have some info. Question is, is it good info, or info that we can afford to force-sync to learn?
I feel like the information now would be worth it, and I'm in favor of that trade. Thoughts?
Also yeah, we should definitely talk the Knox thing over with our teammates. We can probably just trade the pancakes tho :P
About Knox, we should discuss this with the others first.
Ask Caius and Macland about it.
