Thinking about it, trading up golems will probably take some time and effort--you want to give the best golems you can manage to make, so as to try and up the quality of the final trade. Even the somewhat shoddy one you made before took a little while to put together, and you're not... entirely sure how many golems it might take to make the best golem.

The more you wonder about it, though, the more you want to go through with it.

But, before you do--you also have some random objects on hand that you could try trading up that won't require you to make anything in the red first.

You take your bag of extra fingers and dump them in the ritual circle. You cleantex yourself to recall what you saw in the book. It's... actually a little fuzzy, even with the cleantex--something about the arcane tome keeps you from remembering it as vividly as you should. You couldn't remake this circle from memory, you don't think... but your memory of Michelle performing the chant is still pretty clear.

You repeat what she said. Smoke rolls off the candles, thickening, spiraling over the symbols on the floor and the various fingers.

You finish casting the spell.

The smoke clears.

What remains is one finger.

...You pick up the finger. It looks like a pretty normal, human finger.

Well, not normal. It's... a very high quality finger. You're no connoisseur of human digits, but this looks like a really fancy finger.

Next, you try taking some of the extra cards to the various bunkers your group has discovered. You lay them out as neatly as you can in the ritual circle, one for each bunker so far, and you step out of the circle to perform the ritual again.

Once more, as you chant, the smoke begins to consume the items.

As you finish casting, the smoke fades from sight.

What remains is one mysterious keycard.

You pick it up, feeling a bit worn out. You're not sure what bunker this keycard goes to.

Ooooh.
Should have finch examine the finger later.
Could be a source of top-quality limbs if we can get enough material for the bioprinter.

As for the keycard, might want to set aside a day for testing it. Might open a new bunker, might try to open every bunker at once. Who knows?

have Fuse check out the keycard, he should be able to run it through that program he's using to find viable key card combos to see what it does, or cobble something else to do that if the lock picker program doesn't find the locks to go to some keys we've found.

Let's gather the party and check it out! Definitely wait to have more people with us to check it out though.

Also, we need to ask Fuse about his progress on the hacker thing. I feel like we should try to work on that pretty hard because the tunnel thing is probably our most urgent imminent threat right now. ...Assuming Carpenter doesn't do something crazy, which is just an everpresent risk but something we can't really do much about right now.

If we need to, we can rest. Contacting entities from other planes is incredibly tiring and it's no wonder we might need to recharge a bit.

My first thought was a sarcastic "offer the really nice finger to Elizabeth". Then, on further consideration, it quit being sarcastic. It might be a good way to fix the buggier parts of her biology: bioprint a bunch of organs, then trade them for better ones, and use those to fix her up. Either that, or put it in the fridge in case we need a spare again in the future.

I'd wait until Michelle and/or Caius are back before testing the keycard; after all, it might lead somewhere dangerous, and it'd be good to have backup.

Maybe let Fuse check the keycard out first before testing it out?

Seconded, the new keycard data can be used to refine additional searches for the other keycards.

Have finch look at the finger (who knows it might be an upgrade on efficiency to a normal finger), and then gather an attack squad and use that keycard

Wait for the others/to create a new golem before exploring the mysterious new card (honestly, Fuse should take a look at the card to make sure we didn't accidentally ruin it).

Lunch plans? We've spent a while doing the rat thing. Maybe make sandwiches for everyone while they're doing their ritual thing in Ilworth. We could do a blood check-in on them.

Otherwise if we don't want to go join them, there's still the matter of dying our hair a new color. I was thinking black, but I know there were others wanting an off-blonde of sorts.
We always could actually do something with our hair like braids as a disguise instead.

Assuming the mystery card does access a Zone Fifty facility, I think Fuse should come along. He didn't get to investigate the last one even though he wanted to.

Hey, using the ritual on body parts might not be such a bad idea. In case we need to replace anything faulty in Elizabeth, making a higher quality part would be of obvious benefit

Hey, we can trade in a bunch of usb drives full of Fuzes hacking software, see if he gets something better out of it.

We could put a couple of candles decorating the bunker. Thanks to comic book reality, they wouldn't run out or put the bunker on fire... hopefully.

Pretty lights with pretty colors are pretty.

Or, you know, get LED candles and avoid breaking the 4th wall? Heck, for all we know, we're already using LED candles?
