Morgenstern
Caius accompanies you as you let some of your cats through the doors to Ilworth. For now, you want them to catch what they can--harming their "prey" as little as possible, and bringing it to you, instead. That way, you can blood whatever rats and such happen to be caught. You give them the basic instructions and let them be on your way... and you make an attempt to meditate. With all the rushing around, and with so much that needs to be done, it's fairly difficult to find a moment to relax. Caius is surprisingly quiet.

Michelle takes some quick notes from Geoangular Control on how to perform the trade-up ritual, and then lets Dr. Finch take the book. Michelle begins working on cleaning up the paint from the floor from the last ritual so she can put a new circle down.

Fuse starts to work on the best way to approach the hacker trap.

"Y'know, if this works," Michelle says, "we could try to make a bigger one in Ilworth."

Fuse chuckles lightly. "What, like, trade up all those junked out cars?"

"Hell yeah," Michelle replies. "We might get a top o' the line model or somethin'."

"Yeah," Fuse says, "or we might get some flying alien vehicle we don't understand."

Michelle grins. "You say it like that wouldn't be bad ass. You know Finch would go nuts learnin' to pilot a space car."

Dr. Finch heads to Mars, and begins discussing the book in earnest with Pierce, specifically focusing on ghosts as the book portrays them compared to imprints as science sees them. Pierce's experience with other magical texts and rituals lets him offer insight that Dr. Finch doesn't have, and Dr. Finch starts trying to codify the occult knowledge in more technical terms.

You zone out for a while, snapping out of it when your cats start coming back. Held (carefully) in their mouths are a couple of squirming rats.

You inject the rats, tend to their injuries, and then send the cats back out. It takes an hour or two, but in total you end up with control over five new rats.

Yay! Let's check on the results of Michelle's ritual then, I guess? And see if Fuse has made any progress. And bring Finch some tea because I bet he needs it. Also, while we're coming through, we should check in on Faraday and Tesla, see how they're doing.

We need to have someone (Dr Finch and maybe Pierce) double check setup against the book before starting

Agreed on checking the ritual before starting. It was also mentioned that the, "Improvement," is subjective. If they can lend Michelle any insight on that it'd probably help tremendously. For instance she likely wants her Stratemeyer back; if she can guide the trade(s) in THAT particular direction that'd be ideal.

We need to take a break, cleantex, and write out everything about the master list of bunkers. Maybe the door codes will write themselves out.

Dinner party on Mars. Movies and all.

We should name one of the rats Splinter.

We could name them after characters from The Great Mouse Detective or Ratatouille.

I second naming at least one splinter.

... wait... potential copyright infringement...

how about instead of "Master Splinter" we go with "Dr. Sliver"? (He's got a higher degree)

Check in on everyone and make tentacles for one of the rats, likely based on the star nosed mole.

Are you suggsting blood bandage power armored rats?

Tunnel mapping should be prett easy if Fuse can rig up some small radio frequency generators to be deposited at tunnel entrances with known real world locations. Give your animal friends some small radio receivers hooked up to jump drives to swallow and have them run around the tunnels for a day, then poo the receiver drive pills out somewhere you can collect them. Look at the relative strength of the signals from the base stations in the recording and you should be able get a map of the tunnel over time. Receiver pills are good because they’ll keep anyone from getting suspicious about animal friends wearing electronic gear.

Regarding cracking door codes, we’ve only got it running on like two computers at the moment, right? Let’s buy some time on a secure server farm (ideally with as close to milspec encryption as we can get), emulate the card readers, and run that on a million machines. Should have all the codes in an hour or so.

we live in a vertical city, tracking radio signals wont travel jack shit

Those cell phones seem to work fine on every level. We could probably triangulate off cell stations. Quadranglate if we need altitude as well.

Feed the cats a treat if we can, they deserve a reward.

Also maybe ask what's on Caius's mind if that's the reason he's being quiet.

Also just a note about exploring the tunnels: We could try doing blood-mode on thrall processing power like during the exploding cultist incident. It'd kill everyone else's productivity but it'd mean we could maintain focus on all the rats at once (both in terms of directing them and seeing through them).
