While Caius continues to drive you through the underground, Dr. Finch begins to look through the various pamphlets and brochures--there's a chance one of the local tour guides could take you through the dome you need.

You ask Fuse and Michelle if they've found any local money.

"I found some loose change," Michelle replies.

"If you guys need money," Fuse says, "...I feel like there's gotta be a better way to get it. What do you need money for?"

You explain the situation with Southden, the library, and the big glass dome.

Fuse stops what he's doing. He thinks about it for a second. He grins.

"I know how you can get into that dome," he says. "Like, I can almost guarantee it... but it's gonna be shady as hell. If Southden gets a lot of tourists, I doubt you're the only unofficial visitors there. There's gotta be a market for faking visas, tags, all that... and if there's money in it, there's people doing it. I've got a lot of stuff for the androids, but I've also got a lot of car parts sitting here that are worth big money the Juries don't need. You take that to a seedy repair shop--I'm talking a fast repaints, no questions asked type of place, and cut them a deal--you can probably make money and friends. I'll bet there's dealers for fake IDs, fake passports, fake license plates, all of it if you can get a hookup. ...It'll just mean dealing with some real dirty people."

You check on Dr. Finch's progress.

"Unfortunately," begins Dr. Finch, "none of these advertised tours mention the domes. I imagine it could be a security risk, taking random strangers through the wealthy neighborhoods. However, we do have maps. Not very detailed ones, mind you, but maps of both the streets at large and of major sections of the city's sub level. We could line these up without much difficulty, I suspect, and perhaps take a vent entrance up into the dome interior."

That provides you, thus far, two possible options for tackling the dome.

Fuse's method--networking with the criminal underground to get forged documents--would let your team drive into the dome, motorcycle and all. However, it means dealing with unscrupulous individuals and lying to local police.

Dr. Finch's method is more straightforward; however, as it likely involves scaling the city's vent system, you would be entering the dome on foot... and likely approaching the library without Caius.

Let's go with Fuse's plan. Caius' part in this right now is being Finch's muscle backup anyways. Going in without him is kinda defeats the point of having him around here.

The direct method would be very vent hermit, but if we get asked for ID at any point we're screwed, and we won't have Caius with us. I think dealing with the repair shop idea is best. ...I don't care for any of our options right now, honestly.

Repair shop keeps options open. Can always vent hermit or locate another means as we go or later.

Web search for the local equivalent of Craigslist and see if anything promising jumps out. Also certain parts are not tracked...like most of the car. Wheels, suspension, driveline and more so we can interact with non-shady people and it wont be a problem, but this will take time. The less tgan scrupulous shop will likely be faster and pay better for the effort since information is also a payment.

Sad though it is to pass up an opportunity for Jane to express her vent hermit nature, I agree that Fuse's plan is the way to go here. xD

I think the shady approach is best. We just keep our new "friends" on a need-to-know basis: if they aren't blooded (or maybe even if they are), they don't get to know who we are or why we're here.

Yeah, I also think we should go with making contacts rather than trying to go it alone. Contacts are an asset that can be tapped again in future, and having forged documentation will be incredibly helpful for repeat visits as well. And if Jury can't get visas and such for Zene's family and Pierce, we might need a contact who can forge documents and pull strings anyways.

Miiight want to do both.
I suspect security isn't as meticulous for checking I.D. once we get inside the dome, but having some I.D. that passes a cursory inspection would be handy.
...
I suppose there's also the option of blooding someone who can get in through the front door, or trying to get some kind of day pass. Latters probably really pricey to keep out random tourists though.

Fuse's method.

Let's head back now if we found everything we need to know before we get to the book.

I like fuse's idea better, fuse knows what hes doing with all of this, plus not having an easy escape route if stuff goes south (no car/bike, and only being able to leave through vents) is a risk we cant afford to make

I vote Fuse's idea. Might not be a bad idea to ask if Queen has been seen/heard of around here.

It might be safest to find out what kind of collection the library has, and have Jury forge us some papers so that Jane, Finch, and Caius can pose as researchers (and their bodyguard). The library surely has some sort of temporary pass for visiting academics, right?
