Caius starts to dismantle the screen in the archive room, but Dr. Finch holds up a hand.

"I... would wait on that," he says, hardly looking up from the document. "I have a hunch."

Caius stops, and nods. They take one last look through the cabinets, and through the desk drawers in the main room, but find only paperwork. Dr. Finch and Caius then head into the containment area. Dr. Finch continues to read through the documentation, and Caius continues struggling with the ghost gun.

Only one ghost appears in the containment area: a woman, softly humming a tune to Tesla's cell.

"Huh," remarks Caius. "I was kinda expectin'... more, y'know? Like an army o' ghosts or somethin' tryin' to stop us. They might all be waitin' behind tha locked door."

"Honestly?," Dr. Finch replies. "I don't think there will be any resistance." He looks up from his papers. "I hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong, and there's... a legion of angry ghouls defending the last room, and we have to blast our way through and everything's... normal."

Caius gives Dr. Finch a very concerned look. "Why? What's tha alternative? Ain't like you to want a fight. What do you think's goin' on?"

Dr. Finch stares forward for a moment. "I'm not... great, at reading emotions, Caius. That ghost--the one that's humming--does she seem to be overly emotional or stressed to you?"

Caius watches the woman for a few seconds. He shakes his head. "Nah, she looks pretty calm."

Dr. Finch adjusts his glasses. "The energy in the air does make imprinting easier... but I don't think the specific imprints we're seeing were accidental. I suspect they were chosen. I could be wrong. I hope that I'm wrong, but... I believe this is all a show for our benefit. These were all messages--information being provided. We aren't supposed to blame the scientists for what happened. We were meant to find their last secret. We are meant to learn this tune, in case Tesla still needs it. If my suspicion holds... we are meant to go through that final door."

Dr. Finch looks down at the document, thumbing through the papers again. "I want to be wrong. I would love to be wrong."

"If you ain't," Caius asks, "what's behind tha door? Somethin' dangerous? Worse than an army of pissed off ghosts...?"

"No," replies Dr. Finch. "If I'm correct, she has absolutely no intention of harming us."

"Who?," Caius asks.

"Faraday," replies Dr. Finch.

If he knows she's not mean or anything, then why does he seems so terrified of the idea?
Also, talk to the ghost in the case just in case and try to memorize the tune.

2nding memorizing the tune. They can just ask for a cleantex effect at any time to make the process phenomenally easier (though they may want to give actually singing/humming it a try as I'm guessing neither of them have taken choir/singing classes).

Listen to the tune. Try to memorize it, but don't be super-paranoid about forgetting it - that's what cleantex is for. Once that's done, approach the door carefully, then open it. Here's hoping. Caius, have the gun ready to be put away if Finch's theory is right.

EDIT: Actually, Pkr's idea of humming the tune next to the door could be onto something, let's try that.

Approach slowly JUST in case there's one more ghost before hitting the door.

Try to only break the lock and keep the door hinges intact. If that door has kept whatever is behind it for 100+ years, it'd be good to be able to close it and just barricade it if necessary.

Also I'm just going to throw this out there: Jane should hug baby Red II; we SHOULD have hugged xem when xe mentioned being all alone; but better late than never.

Listen to the tune all the way through.

Check the door, don't force it ... yet.

Hum the tune with the ghost, and see if the door opens. Maybe too many video games... but an out of place tune is always a key. Try standing next to the ghost and/or in front of the door. Caius is already in a good place. Channel his inner Mario, or in this case Link.

Try humming at the door, then look for a key to it.

Is there any kind of date on the documents ?

Such an obvious question yet you are the first to ask. Yes. This is a good question!

With how we have gotten to know the author I am expecting "Thursday March 15, 123 years ago" instead of pinning a hard date down. And with that "Et tu Brute" works.

Ignoring the locked door for the moment where Are those wires going? The yellow and blue are parallel in one area, though there is more of the yellow strewn about, might be good to know if the power suddenly needs to be cut.

For some reason the yellow cable on the ceiling looks like it belongs to something not there... but everything else has both ends fixed in place somehow... floor, ceiling, machine. The one cable goes from ceiling to the ceiling, and has a connection of some type visible.
