Morgenstern
Willard reaches the top of the ladder, arriving in some sort of sanctuary.

You take a deep breath.

Alright.

Your main priority is getting Mav out of there. However, based on what Crease and Zene have said, you're 99% sure she's taken Queen. If you blood her, the Many will try to get to you through her. Further, you're not extremely sure if the goop left behind in the ritual room is safe to be injected at all. You consider using blood from your cats and Willard on the cultists; however, you've tried this before--blood from secondary agents doesn't work. Dr. Finch, despite having a great deal of your blood, was unable to enthrall one of his rats when tested. The blood must come almost directly from you, as far as you're aware.

You ask if the random stranger that was pulled off the street was drugged.

"No," replies the cultist on the phone.

You tell the cultist that the man is free to go, then. He should be able to leave safely. If you're going to get Mav and the rest of the cultists out safely, you're either going to need to negotiate with the Many, or play some very risky games with its telepathic range. You ask the cultist how many of them there are.

"There's five of us here, and one more upstairs," he replies.

You tell him that you need him to speak with the Many, and explain to it what's going on. If you can't get this sorted out, no one might make it out--even the Many itself is in danger. You also suggest that the loading dock needs to be secured as much as possible, as something might be coming in.

You hear the cultist pull the phone away and speak out. "You two," he tells a couple of the other cultists. "Head to the loading bay, make sure everything's alright. Many? Are you there? We need to talk about what's going on. ...I... what...?"

There's a pause.

"I don't understand," the cultist speaks into the phone. "The Many seems... busy? It shushed me. I can go try to talk to it in person, if you want."

You tell your cat to get out of the area, and switch to the view of your raven. The truck is backing up to the loading bay door.

You tell Michelle to grab the tranq gun and more syringes. You haven't fully worked out a plan, but something suspicious is going on with the Many, and you suspect negotiations with it may not work as desired. Attempting to either deal with the Many more aggressively, or trying to blood the cultists from a distance, may be required. She steps outside, armed, and with the things you asked for.

"We doin' this, then?"

Let's rock and roll.

Figure out a safe distance from previous encounters (If they can be shot straight where they were aimed at all good, probably about 5 meters away from the entrance as an estimate), Blood the lot, get Everyone in the van and Out of there. Then negotiate with The Many. As it is apparently busy right now this may be the only chance to pull the cult out from under it.

I'm highly concerned Thale might have beaten us to the punch of negotiations with The Many. He's also in a much better position to strike a deal if so.

Try to get Michelle in position at least. Worse comes to worse, she bloods them with the tranq gun and we just have them run away from the church.

I think we've pushed our luck with Willard enough and should get him out of there. Given we've made a point out of him being special to us, I figure it's only time before The Many tries to mind control him as a way of getting to us or as a hostage.

Fortunately it seems the Many can only access human minds, which is probably why they're very interested in acquiring Jane's or Thale's to reach out through the red.

Plan Name: Lot of Minds, Lot of Level

Requirements: Michelle, Tranquilizer Gun (Filled with The Blood), Various Armaments, Ice Cream, a LOT of level.

1) Drive until a relatively safe distance away from the Church of Enyo, then send Michelle (Dissociated by blood) to move onward to locate the Many. Attack all that get in the way.

2) Plant A Lot of Level at the location of the Many. Ignite with candles located within the church.

3) Leave room, shut door, and allow the Lot of Level to hotbox within The Many's location.

4) Command Michelle's brain to continue producing adrenaline, send her back into the room, guns-a-blazing. Hopefully the Lot of Level will have negatively affected The Many's capacity for mind control.

5) With The Many's influence gone on the cultists, Thale likely has taken reigns on them once more. To counteract this, forcefully inject every member with The Blood through the Tranquilizer Gun.

6) Hope for the best that whatever's in that truck isn't super bad. Consume Ice Cream for post-event stress relief.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah let's do this

I hope we don't die

this was just a suggestion, if it isn't good enough let's not do it, but I can't think of much else to gain goood footing

Considering that Fuse's control over his psychic powers improves with level, I suspect this would only make the Many more dangerous.

Hmm, but the Many is literally of many minds, which means maybe Level would negatively impact their ability to cooperate with themself? (man, hiveminds require weird pronouns.)

Alternatively, we could use another drug, if we have sufficient amounts. Or mix the Level with something.

I dunno, we could ask Fuse if he thinks hotboxing the Many would work. It's an interesting idea, if nothing else.

Well, Michelle, we're doing... *something.* Might as well head on over and figure out a plan on the way; else we might not get there in time.

Okay, so adding another plan here.
Get all the cultists to walk as far away from the many as they can be before getting taken over by Thale, blood them, then quickly take them out of range of the many. A second too long in either territory unprotected could become devastating. The many is technically more dangerous right now, as we do not know it's motives or goals. But if they go into Thale's territory too soon before getting blooded, they risk attacking Jane because of the Queen in their system. So it becomes a matter of whether to risk the Many being ready for their cultists to be shushed, or Queen's natural effects. Perhaps, once they are close to the border, have Jane stand back, and Michelle and someone else be ready to blood them the second they go through the border. That way, while they're charging past to kill Jane, there will at least be a couple more seconds to act.
