You and Fuse put on tin foil hats.

"This feels... incredibly silly."

You no longer feel your brain being scrambled.

It's ... wait no it is silly even if it works, it's just not stupid.

Somehow, I'm completely unsurprised that Grizwald was on to somethin' with that hat of his.

Anyways, make some hats for the rest of the crew for later just in case something like this shit happens again. Then we can do some backtracking to the door and see what's on the chalkboard in that room.

Well. Um. Let's go back a bit.

"Keeps th' satellites from readin' muh thoughts. The contracts are all expired, but somebody could buy 'em up any day now."

Guess what. It's any day party, and they focused the damn things right on top of us. Or maybe the canister out there is part of a Z50 satellite and it got activated somehow.
Fuse should go back in the corridor and dismantle the hell out of that contraption. Jane should gather enough foil to make hats for Michelle and Caius, tell them about the situation.

The bandaged camera is going to fritz if the fields get any stronger, might as well bring it back outside.

I hate that this feels like the most incredible plot twist I've ever seen.

Thank goodness. I thought from the static at the end of the last update we were too late and were about to endure a Revolver Ocelot-style torture session. :(

I guess check in with the others (or attempt to anyway; will be hard to tell if it's the static or the hats blocking our signal if it doesn't work).

Do we go forward again or should we check the classrooms we haven't checked yet? Also a reminder we are NOT TRAPPED as of yet. We could go back out the backdoor and meet with Michelle and Caius up front (though granted, we'll likely have to make them hats and the Finch-cam is going to be nigh-useless with a scrambled signal).

Next time we see Grizwald, we let em know this actually works.

Incredibly silly, but it works.

I think maybe now we should tell everyone - Dr. Finch and the others - and also check in on them, see if outside things are okay? If anyone is thinking in static for Michelle or Caius, we had better make tinfoil hats for them too. ....... :'DDD

When your mutant superpowers(that I tottaly called)/super high tech mind disruptor is rendered useless by cheap cooking paper.

Also, Fun fact for today:
Thin sheets of aluminium are not very effective at attenuating low-frequency magnetic fields. The shielding effectiveness is dependent upon the skin depth. A field travelling through one skin depth will lose about 63 per cent of its energy (it is attenuated to 1/e = 1/2.718... of its original energy). Thin shields also have internal reflections that reduce the shielding effectiveness.[13] For effective shielding from a magnetic field, the shield should be several skin depths thick. Aluminium foil is about 1 mil (25 µm); a thickness of 10 mils (250 µm) (ten times thicker) offers less than 1 dB of shielding at 1 kHz, about 8 dB at 10 kHz, and about 25 dB at 100 kHz.

Placebo effect? Not magnetism? Science?

Either way, better not point that out to the greater world cause it might take notice and then we'll be unable to think. Which will probably cause some problems.
PurpleKetchup 15th Nov 2017, 4:20 PM edit delete reply
However, due to the skin effect, aluminium foil is great to channel away alternative currents, such as those an antenna might generate when subjected to high frequency signals.

Like we are right now.

See if you can contact the others. Your powers and your red are susceptible to whatever this stuff is, but it can be completely blocked out by a tinfoil hat? What does that mean for your powers? Could they be blocked off by a thin sheet of aluminum, too?

I think the blood powers work entirely differently, if tinfoil could stop them it wouldn't have been usable from Earth to Mars, I think. I don't think the static was screwing with the blood, only brains (hence fuse's vulnerability).

If possible hide the tinfoil hats under previous headgear, best not tip them off that we have a counter to their static shock.
