Morgenstern
While Dr. Finch eats his ice cream, you check the news to see if anything notable is happening--particularly, anything that might be keeping Jury busy.

Nothing spectacular seems to be happening--just the usual crimes, news sites talking about not-news, and politicians being politicians.

You don't see anything that Jury might be wrapped up in, and you're not sure if that makes you more or less worried.

You ask Dr. Finch about treating neurological damage and/or waking up someone in Macland's condition.

"Well..." Dr. Finch begins, "That depends. Persistent vegetative states come in... in in in a wide variety of forms with vastly different causes. If you're interested in helping Macland Row, the key will likely be in discovering why he's in such a condition in the first place--exactly what, per se, that memetic defense mechanism did to him damage-wise. It may have created some abnormality in his central nervous system, it may have increased his body's vascular pressure resulting in a number of side effects, it may have convinced his brain that it's concussed... all of which have very different remedies. I'm sure the hospital he's staying at has figured out at least the surface issue and individual symptoms, though only Carpenter, Knox, and our little group may be aware of the rest of the story."

Looks like I wasn't the only one who wanted to help Mac... but to do so would be difficult. I suggest we discuss with our cohorts how we might be able to get into communications with Shirai.

Also, have we tried to get dart guns, and rope?

Was the plan to turn Shirai against the rest of the cabal?
(Just got caught up, loving the comic!)

Well... at least, there's nothing spectacularly news-worthy happening-- yet. I think that's more worrying though, in regards to Jury. If Fuse *can* find her phone when he gets back, that's something to do.

Should we try talking to our Red to get the full skinny on what exactly that memetic defense did to Macland? Red was the one who actually handled all that and kept Macland's brain from turning into mush long enough to keep us all alive. She'd probably know best on what was going on there.

As a side-note it amuses me to imagine after Dr. Finch explains all that about 'solving mortality', Jane goes 'That's amazing, Dr. Finch, but... your ice-cream is melting ;3;' XD

"And I cannot hug ice-cream back into a frozen state."

Not YET anyway. If we blooded the inside of an icebox, we could theoretically put ice cream in or pull ice cream from said icebox at any time provided we have a pool of our blood to sink it into/pull it out from (ice cream lacking a mind or even being living I doubt travel through the "red zone" would affect it).
The downside, of course, being that we have a limited blood supply and the process of getting a pool of blood might be unappetizing.

Not just the getting: alien blood on ice cream isn't the most appetizing, even if you already have some running through your veins.

Well it'd be in a container. We can call it blood orange flavor. ^_^

I can't really think of anything to do until Fuse/Caius get back (and even then, there'll probably be setup time to get the camera rig running).

Quick check of Macland (and put the blood alarm on him) and then Fuse/Caius and then pop into our mind to have a chat (and hug) with Red?
Possibly ask red if we can modify the "decor" of our mind-room to have a cat in it. :3

Next time we meet Jury let's give her 2 super tiny capsules with Jane's blood that she could use as distress beacon - crush one when in trouble, so we use the second to locate and assist her.

Jury or anyone else we want to help, really. Making these should take enough time for C&F to get back there.

That would put her in quite a pickle if she gets found out, though.

Unless she can hide itin herself somewhere.... she's not human after all.
Blue_Elite 8th Nov 2017, 11:53 AM edit delete reply
Which would then create the problem of the blood being INSIDE her. Also note even if that's not specifically an issue, robots aren't known for being soft and squishy. Any container the blood is in would be at risk of breaking.

I'm afraid she might already be in quite the pickle. Plus she can always say it's dangerously contagious stuff only she can handle.

I have the intense desire to make a comment, but I can't think of anything to say, so instead I shall generically recommend we do something cool. And then hug someone.
Blue_Elite 8th Nov 2017, 2:31 PM edit delete reply
Not necessarily in that order I'm assuming. XD

Put the blood in a ketchup packet!
