You take a look through the door's peephole, since that was pretty quick.

It does appear to be Michelle and Caius, though. They must've already been on their way back when you sent your request for burn treatment.

You warn them not to freak out too much as you open the door... it's been, uh, a bad day.

"Freak out?," Caius chuckles, "With tha sorta stuff that's been goin' on lately? What could--"

"FUSE!," Michelle shouts, bursting into the room the rest of the way.

She bolts straight through your red. Fuse gives a dry, half hearted smile as he mutters. "Wow, she really is just in our heads. Alright."

"Fuse, what happened?!" Michelle starts to approach, but is afraid to actually touch Fuse.

You and Fuse explain eeeverything that went down in Macland's mind. You also explain what you learned--that there's a reporter shackled up somewhere, that TH is almost definitely Patton Thale, and that Gesenai and Macland may have been planning to betray Thale at some point. As you explain it, Red slowly fades from view, disappearing back into your mind. She might not like crowds.

"Real question is," Caius says, "how tha hell we gonna get to Thale? I never seen the guy that he didn't have security comin' outta tha walls."

"We can figure that out after we get Finch back," Michelle responds. "...And... after Fuse gets better."

You ask what the two of them found out about where Dr. Finch is being kept.

"So, uh, get this--" Michelle starts, "It's underground."

"Underground... like..." Fuse leans in a little more. "...What tier?"

"No, man," Caius shakes his head. "Underground. Like, not on a tier. Tier negative one. Below tha friggen city. They got a straight up bunker."

A few moments pass as it all sinks in. Michelle continues.

"It's just on the edge of the city, looks like an old garage or somethin'. If it wasn't for the bird, we'd have never noticed it. Whole thing's just a front--there's like... an elevator or somethin' inside the building. We watched five trucks go in and none came back out, but it only looked big enough for two trucks if you squeezed 'em in enough."

"It ain't improvised, is what we're sayin'," Caius adds. "That kinda thing don't get setup overnight, they been here a while."

"Oh, and we got the supplies," Michelle concludes. "We got food, we got medical stuff, we got more ammo. Almost ran outta room in the car gettin' it all back here."

Alrighty. I seriously doubt our abilities in getting Finch out of there. We might just have to see what they have in store for him. Maybe rat spy 2: the rattening would work.

Treatment time! Roll for medicine! Possibly steal Finch's knowledge if we need to (hopefully not cause he's still out cold)! Maybe sit around a while after that, I think we need some time to cool off after that. We'll probably need to wait for Finch to wake up to work on the Michelle not dying of old age thing.

...Speaking of, Mom's red might know about how to stop the hive mind thing. She did apparently have her blood in Dad for a while.

The only thing more horrifying than a Hive mind? A Dad mind. ♪oooooooooh

that doesn't necessarily mean they synced a lot, though. regardless, it'd probably be worth asking if we ever go back to the house, but we shouldn't risk that just yet.

i think it's a good time to just... lay low for a little while. we have fuse to look after and as soon as gesenai finds out what's up with macland she'll be out for our blood more than she is now. plus, we need to give finch time to recover, and as much as it sucks to say it, the feds' bunker is the best place. no one except us knows where he is, and we can hopefully do some recon through finch while he's down there. we should bide our time and maybe see if we can find a deserted place to maybe work on training up some skills (like gun handling) so we don't need to sync them.

I'm with Mochi as well, but I would like to see if our red can talk to moms red... If that's possible?
rufiangel 16th Sep 2017, 9:52 PM edit delete reply
It might be possible since we gave mom's red our blood in order to communicate.

I agree with mochi

Although, maybe get fuse a decent pair of clothes and fix his burns a little more

Someone needs to tell Caius that he better be prepared to get scarred sooner or later.
Kitty 16th Sep 2017, 9:35 PM edit delete reply
While we're resting, we definitely need to work on meditation. That's gonna hopefully increase our control over our abilities and provide some defenses for if we ever need to force sync again. Hoping we don't ever need to, but wishes don't always come true.

I love Michelle's reaction to Fuse's poor state, I friendship-ship them so much XD; oh Caius, you ain't seen nothing yet - MM proves on a daily basis that things can always. Get. Worse. :P

Anyway let's put some priority on fixing Fuse up, eating some food and discussing why the heck they have a bunker that's disguised as a garage because that's shady as hekk. I am strongly suspecting Zone Fifty shenanigans now. Lasker might be in there.

Dr. Finch, I hope you're okay. ;_; Hopefully he can let us know when he wakes up what he feels about the place and what he thinks the "feds" want with him.
