You ask Fuse if he's able to communicate with the other roaches. He... shrugs? He definitely makes an awkward motion with his bug limbs. It might be a shrug.

You use Fuse's saw to cut through one of the bars, making enough room for you to climb into the drainage pipe. You grab Fuse's clothes, and you head on down the pipe.

You discover that this drainage pipe connects straight across to the one in the room you first fell into.

Is it possible to swim up waterfalls Mario style?

gravity doesn't work that way unless you're an incredibly horny and determined salmon.

So if we make a bunch of excessively lewd comments we can swim up waterfalls?

Eh... Gravity.... waterfalls...
Gravity Falls? O>O;
We can do this, we just need a strange book.

Awkward Fuse-bug shrug is so cute and sad and dammit. XD;;;

Hum. Let's saw that grate open too, then, so we can connect back easily.

Uh, so... I have a weird idea. There's this red thing at the end of the pipe, where Fuse set up the manky computer. Could it be something that affects the water flow?

There aren't a huge number of options besides climbing but the point is moot if the pipes break. But what if we blasted the water flow and broke all the pipes on purpose, went straight back to the first room and basically let the water level raise us up?

I don't know if that would even work because the pits here are like... bottomless or something. But if we blooded the inside of some of these pipes, like how we've closed vents before, maybe we could deliberately redirect all the water flow into the first room by sealing other pathways.

Maybe???

well, we can't climb out, so it's worth a try i think? unless someone has any better ideas.

Oh before we do anything crazy, let's ascertain that Fuse and Jane both actually know how to tread water XD;;; it would be mighty bad if they don't and we flood the place lolol

EDIT: Actually even if they can't, I suppose if they cling to the pipe as the water level rises it'd still be doable. The pipe probably connects to the surface? Hum.

Enough overthinking from me nao XD

Alright, 4 arms, double the climbing ability. Climb up the pole atop Roach-Fuse's back!

Unless someone has an idea involving debris and improvised climbing systems.

If we found enough tires and used the brain-land-logic of applying the gearbox... we might be able to turn Fuse
... into a Buggy.

MM described the pipe like this:

"You check the thin pipe to the right to see if you could perhaps climb it. You think you... could, but it's not very safe. The pipe is fragile, and wet. Odds of you slipping off halfway up are about as good as the pipe breaking, and both are better odds than you making it all the way to the top."

I'm not really sure if the issue with the pipe was with our climbing ability so much as it was with its fragility. u_u

My spatial reasoning is failing me (I blame the finding-meds-that-work shuffle), and I can't recall if there's anywhere we can access that we haven't checked yet. Does the sewer extend any more than we've seen, that we can get to by walking?

Poor Fuse. :(

The bit about nodding/shaking his head in the prior comic made me feel momentarily very dumb, ha.

I agree with Rufi that playing with the red valve looking thing sounds like a great* idea! If that doesn't help then I guess we can take a shot at climbing the danger pipe?
