Morgenstern
You retreat, but you don't escape.

A massive pressure relieves from the inside of your skull as you step out of the room and back into the starting area.

You start to try and move the statue of Macland, but it burns against your fingers; you can scarcely get a good grip on it. The gold is hot enough to have started melting, starting from the head.

Mad ranting continues:

Let us consider every concept as being within Box A and Box B. Box A is what we think of as existing. Box B is what we think of as not existing. Assume anything in Box A is not in Box B, and anything not in Box A is in Box B.

Anything that interacts with the beast enters Box B, entirely and conceptually. We're dealing with a realm of pure thought. That's why throwing in objects creates a paradox. You can't throw in something that doesn't exist, therefore we didn't throw it. Grandfather Paradox.

What if we took something out of Box B? By logic, it would have to exist in Box A. But if we reached in and pulled something out, that would be sticking our hand into nothing. Hand doesn't exist, can't be extended, so we never did. But what if we shouted into Box B "Hey (person or object)! Come into Box A!" What we said, enters, and ceases to exist. So it was never said in Box A. But now the sound is in Box B, so it was in there.

Humor me...

Who doesn't exist in this place we've entered? Fuse. We synced with him and tried to bring him in, but he doesn't exist. So what if we shouted into the beast, "Hey, Fuse! Come here!"

If my (admittedly flimsy) logic holds, he could step from Box B (Nothing) into Box A (Exists). Fuse would now exist.

Wait! He said that outside the hole left by giant Mac, there was "Nothing."

Light bulb!

Neeevermind, then. So much for that hope.

Can we get in touch with our red? Is she still screaming? :'D

It sounded like she was getting farther away. Wonder why...

Well... we could kick the statue along and use it as a bridge.
If Macland falls into his own fear, well... that'd eliminate his fear.
Theoretically.
WalkerOfSorrow 13th Sep 2017, 12:17 AM edit delete reply
Or his fear would consume him.

This fear doesn't consume anything, it just makes stuff not exist. So if his statue is placed by the void, and melts into it, the statue won't exist, as it could never have been melted, and the trap could never have been set up because there was never a statue for the women to swarm.

Can she talk to the red now? If not I suggest going back into purgatory and doing nothing.

Calling the trap's bluff? That's risky. But honestly I'm not seeing superior ideas. Let's do that.
