You tell the white rat--who is still in the ventilation shaft of Elegance--to avoid the fire, stay safe, and protect Fuse's USB.

While Michelle drives you back to Dr. Finch's, you contact your red. You ask about syncing with unwilling targets.

"You can do it... if you're willing to take the risk. You can share thoughts, memories, feelings with anyone you are synced with... but they can share things you didn't ask for. And, just as you can learn from them, they can learn from you. It's easy to receive something when it's given to you freely--when a person resists... you have to take by force. The mind of another is never as safe as your own."

You ask if this is any safer while the person is asleep.

"Depends on how you define safer. They're less able to poison your thoughts... but you'll have to contend with their subconscious. Would you rather be accosted by their malice, or their fears? Their hatred, or their regrets? Awake... or asleep?

Violence of thought isn't any easier than real violence."

Gah this update came up while I was typing this up XD I'll just edit it a bit and post it here!

I would like to check on what Macland is up to once we get to Dr. Finch's, and see how bad security around him is...

And if Fuse can, I think it'd be ideal if he could write down as many names as he can recall from the register he saw, because there is a chance we lost all that data when Fuse set the security room ablaze (though hopefully the fire-resistant measures our controlled guard told us about will have prevented that data loss from happening). If he can do that, then maybe Dr. Finch can help us see who else is involved in this Elegance/Cult business.

From what Red is telling us, it seems like it IS possible but we might have to muddle through an ocean of grossness before we can actually get to what we want.

Ideally it'd be nice to get Macland away from his guards and just interrogate him face-to-face but if security around him is too tight, we might have to resort to dreamland invasions of the unsuspecting mind...

(Also, I am so glad our white rat is okay. Malteser, you will be missed. :'D)

I second all of that, although I suppose I am the only one who actually wants to go ahead and root about through the guys subconscious. Interpereting that mess would be a good skill to learn early I think.

(I'm actually pretty cool about doing it, because I know it's dangerous and scary and gross but it's also bound to be really really interesting and fun XD)

Jane will have to face terrible stuff eventually. I'm for waiting until what, 5AM ? And try syncing with McLand.
Interrogation is pretty efficient when the subject cannot prevent his subconscious from tainting whatever they answer.

In the meantime, Jane can try and strengthen her own confidence so she doesn't barf everywhere when syncing with a hedonistic rich evil guy. She can stand her own amongst monsters.
