Morgenstern
In addition to practicing more with making yourself blood... you start to practice pulling things into the red.

It's not that hard if you use the portal method. A small portal at your fingertip, a pencil, and you just... shove it in there. After you've closed the portal, re-opening it and retrieving the pencil is... a bit more difficult. There's some shaking and, later, tweezers involved. Luckily, everyone else is too distracted with their current work to have noticed.

If you can pull things directly from the red into your body, though... it should work in reverse.

You put a coin in your hand. You close your hand. You focus on... unmaking it. You have to do a little reshaping, basically absorbing the coin into your skin... but not really into your skin. You are the red. Your skin is the red. You want the coin in the red.

It takes a few tries, with you repeatedly having to eject the coin from your palm, fix the surface of your skin, and try again. But on the fourth try... you push the coin into the red.

It gives you a slightly better understanding of how moving things in and out of the red via your body works. You try giving yourself blood again... and you get it this time. It's substantially easier, and quicker--you simply... will blood into your veins.

You start playing around with melanin--creating lines of a drastically different skin tone. Again, you find yourself making attempts and then having to fix them, but what you're doing is slight enough that undoing the damage isn't too stressful. Eventually, you get pretty decent at it.

You cleantex yourself to remember the symbols on the blood stained pages (since the others are still looking at those pages themselves). You shut your eyes... and focus on forming the symbols on your back.

You successfully form the arcane symbols for the bone armor ritual in your skin.

You bring it up to the others, and ask if they want theirs done the same way. It would be more resilient than just doodling it in a marker or something, and you can always undo it later if need be.

Everyone agrees, though a few are slightly surprised you came up with it. Even Liz seems interested in having the symbols done. So, you take some time out to create melanin, and form the symbols for the bone armor ritual on everyone's backs.

You think back to Grizwald's vial of your blood. You can make portals out of your blood--but that blood's in a vial, and your blood being inside something has its own set of rules. You're... not sure if that would let you move things to and from the vial or not. You're not sure if your being unsure is preventing it, either. You can still convert material, though, with no real issue.

You convert some of the blood in the vial into a very small eye. The vial is... somewhere dark. You can see a faint slit of light, and what looks like... a floor.

Grizwald put the vial of blood in his coat pocket, and you believe it may still be there. ...He's just not wearing his coat, wherever he is.

Hmmm. Can we convert the blood into a creature with an appendage that can pop open the vial from the inside?

We've made needles inject blood remotely before as well. Unmake the eye, eject the blood, then make a golem with what you have. Instant scout.

Soon as you've done that though, tell everyone immediately.

A very tiny golem... an ant golem. We want to leave blood available for Grizwald if he needs it.

Try making something enter your Red from a Little pool of your Blood, not your Body. If you can do that, create a small Golem and send it to the vial of Blood.
Liquid Bacon 14th May 2018, 2:23 PM edit delete reply
I'm pretty sure any blood that's not inside of something can't be used. Otherwise good idea
undeadDreamer 13th May 2018, 11:41 PM edit delete reply
How big are these vials? Do we have enough to make a small rat-like golem?

!!!
Please don't compromise our spy network!
Otherwise, good question.

Unfortunately, we can't replace rats with golems XD. The rats can travel on their own if we tell them where to go, and can hide and escape in their own. With the golems, we must control even the most irrelevant of their movements XD.

Rats > Golems

The issue in this case is the rat-like golem. Still a golem (as you said, "Rats>Golems"), but the shape would be a clue as to how we've been working, the one thing they haven't caught on to yet. Keep the shape weird, k?

Ah, good Point.
Then, a Golem with a weird shape. Maybe a spider or something like that XD.

It is theoretically possible for us to make something with a brain and, in general, better functioning anatomy. We just aren't good at making things that complex(not yet anyway). We could practice for the rest of the day and still not get it close to right, definitely no time for it at the present.

Is the bone armor spell for an entire person, or just said body part? If it's one symbol/person, what's the extent of the armor? We should get Liz to try the spell now. See what it covers and what it doesn't, and then test how strong it is.

Someone should try it out now that we have markings.

I would like to point out making a scout/spy in Grizwald's vial and having it breakout and and move around would mean it'll have to be 100% undetected. If a goon (especially a Thale-controlled goon) finds something that obviously belongs to us, we will have 100% lost the element of surprise. Much like the warehouse incident, Thale will immediately set things into motion and we may not have any time to either save Grizwald or stop Thale's monster anymore; especially after the hacker incident.

So in summary: IF we're going to make a scout and have it move around, we better be completely sure it won't be seen or have a quick way to completely remove/destroy it; which granted, we seem to have a way to burn our blood up but destruction of a full being that is ours may be a taller and "louder" order.

Otherwise we've infiltrated without use of vents before (and it appears vermin are a common enough problem at Hope's place), it'd be better to risk losing a rat than our element of surprise.
Another option is asking Mom's Red how xe does xer GPS trick. If we can feel the distance between the blood vial, the rat/raven, and us, all we have to confirm is that Grizwald is in the general location of Hope's place to move forward with the rescue plan (if his coat is at Hope's place, I'm assuming they're keeping Grizwald there in person as well).

Also test the new armor ritual with Caius since he needs a new set anyway.

Also also, either modify or make sure we can fit our tinfoil hat on or underneath our bone helmet. That'll be our clue to Grizwald we are who we are during the rescue mission (and he might need a replacement tinfoil hat, however inferior quality it may be from his original).

EDIT: I just thought of a way we could do the blood scout. If we can duplicate Mom's Red's folding trick that'd remove the scout without leaving any sort of traceable noise or stain.
But we definitely want to test/practice it in the bunker first before trying it at the vial. Also I'd recommend making a spider or other small invertebrate that can move along ceilings and hopefully won't be immediately recognized as a blood-being.
EDIT x2: Michelle might want to leave the room before we begin practicing if we go with spider-form.

I agree..
Did we learn to make the bulletproof bone?
If we did, maybe we can modify the ritual to create that.
(If it is better than what we get from the ritual of course)

As long as Jane blood-folds the scout out of existence without any witness... if someone sees it, Thale'll know what's up.

Blood inside something is merely constrained by the container, temporarily. The container provides definition and boundries by the physical presence. We are stronger than a mere container.

A bit of plastic, metal, and glass is NOTHING to our power if we choose it.

We can easily move more red into the vial and slowly push through the seal leaving the syringe full to create a new quantity outside the syringe. This new quantity can possess the jacket as a structure, and slowly expand into a proper golem, given enough time.

We can more quickly blow the plunger out destroying the syringe and have a larger starting volume to unfold from.

Because we are the RED and we can portal ourself if our golem finds Griz it can draw the armor symbol on Griz and aid giving him the correct words. All without blooding Griz.

The golem can be very small and carry out this entire operation. Insect to mouse size.

The armor is OUR RED once the armor is on, we can make the armor airtight with membranes, provide it with an air supply, and pull the contents whole into ourself, and remove the contents where we need. We will need to work on the when part and make sure to provide communication to the outside so as to prevent sensory deprivation problems, or suspend Griz somehow (practice on an animal?)

In theory we can do all this without setting foot in the building. This would make the rescue a trivial matter.
Guost 14th May 2018, 12:17 PM edit delete reply
Most of that sounds like more advanced versions of things we've already done. Making air though, mom's red'll probably have to walk us through that one.

I can't take credit for this idea, but if Blondie can make a portal and just let blood pour out, she could make more blood than any amount of bio printers.

Aka we could take over the city before Thale.
ReikoLupus 14th May 2018, 2:44 PM edit delete reply
ReikoLupus
...That's a good Point. For what we know, the amount of content in our Red is almost infinite. We can simply flood the tunnels of Thale with our own Blood.
PurpleKetchup 14th May 2018, 2:47 PM edit delete reply
If Jane ever gets bitter and anti-heroic enough to make the end justify terrible means, that's clearly a way to deal with this entire mess.
ReikoLupus 14th May 2018, 3:01 PM edit delete reply
ReikoLupus
Or if Thale decides to start pouring Blood in the City ahead of Schedule XD. We can simply go down there and put our own Blood before he finishes taking control.
Golnor 14th May 2018, 3:02 PM edit delete reply
Of course, we only have one source of blood, namely Blondie. If we did try this, I can guarantee that when Thale learns about what we are doing, he will come at us with everything he's got. And all he needs to do to find us is go upstream, and then basically every last junkie in the city will be gunning for us, with guns they normally wouldn't have.

So yeah, probably not a good idea, due to the amount of collateral damage involved.

Oh, and I'm the one who told LB about this idea, so don't blame him.
